i'm waiting...

ignoring vs. ignorance.

echidne's blog is another of my favorites. sly of tongue but very sharp of mind.

this time she levels her gaze at what radical conservatives want to do about the constitution.
we can ignore these little signs of incipient craziness...but should we?

i have to take a nap now.

We cannot afford to ignore them. I lost my church, and almost my faith, to a group that systematically politicized the church of my youth into a hate group. I regained my faith and I refuse to give up the country that generations of my family have fought for.

Their agenda is built on lies. However, a lie that is unopposed becomes the truth in the ear of the one who hears it. The liberal Christian church must find its voice and reveal the iniquity of the religious right - for the good of the country and the life of the church.

amen, XT.

i've long thought our progressive side has to be more than just a balance to the other side. we must act proactively but it's as if we're so stunned at their blatant nuttiness, we can't move.

Ding: I think you're right. We just can't seem to wrap our heads around the dangerous wingnuttiness of the Radical Right, and mobilize to confront them. Not to get too melodramatic about it, but it reminds me of Weimar Germany...we're enjoying ourselves at the cabaret while the brownshirts are steadily taking over.

indeed. the brownshirts are taking over. did you see the news about frist's telecast with the likes of james dobson and the head of the southern baptist convention to rally the troops against the filibuster (the only tool we have left to prevent a total collapse into GOP jackassery)?

our political landscape is getting scarier and scarier.
